As many European countries, the Republic of Ireland faces labour shortage. One of the professions that is in high demand is a ‘deboner’. Ukraine has good professionals in the industry, with proven track record and passion for their job.
On October 10th 2017 Irish meat processing company arrived to ILC office in Kyiv to see practical testing of 35 candidates, which were pre-selected by ILC, and to meet with all the candidates. Practical testing was held in one of the meat-processing factories in Kyiv. And all the candidates were tested for:
- Technological proficiency, knowledge of anatomical variants of animals, necessary for accurate removing of the meat from the bones
- Speed and quality of deboning beef
- Fine motor skills and reflective movements for meat deboning
- Butcher`s sharpener skills
Despite the fact that only horizontal deboning was being evaluated during the test, partners noted that only vertical deboning was practiced in their plant as it was easier and faster.
After practical testing ILC partner had a talk with the candidates, provided all the information about working and living conditions, as well as opportunities for career growth, and answered all the questions.
We value Ukrainian workers in our plant, they are good professionals, and high percentage of them are team leaders.
